Is it even possible in our sex-saturated culture to live out God’s requirements for purity once we have hit puberty? God teaches us to be holy as he is holy; but how? Although it may seem impossible, God says it is not only possible but required of all who follow him.
How? The answer is by living according to His Word. What does that mean?
God’s Word is not just printed text on a page; it is the very breath of God that has the power to accomplish everything He intends to do. To meditate and memorize the Word of God changes our soul to live according to the standards of our great God. The Bible has the power to transform us and help us to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
This is possible in the life of a believer in Jesus Christ because you have been given a deposit of the Holy Spirit who dwells within you. As you fill yourself with the Spirit by listening and being obedient to God, He will work in you to show you the right steps to take to accomplish God’s will. Through the Holy Spirit living in you victory over sin is a possibility.
If you have ever felt that you could never keep God’s commands in regards to sexuality, you have come to a great place. The God of the universe is the one who wants to empower you to live a life that is aligned with His will. Since you have learned that you are not able to make it happen why not invite the God of the universe to help you. Not only will this be pleasing to God but will also bring you the greatest joy in following His commands.
Purity is possible because Jesus Christ shed His blood for you and desires for His blood to be the DNA of your life.
1. Confess your sexual sins to the Lord (be specific and honest).
2. Ask the Lord to align your heart and mind with Him.
3. Trust God to do His work in your life through the Holy Spirit (In other words…Let him show you what changes you need to make).
4. Take action when the Lord shows you what to do.
